Palmer's trial was the first for Strychnine Poisoning in this country ( although the post mortem never found any trace of the poison in the victim John Parsons Cook). Palmer was hanged on the 14 June 1856 and his effigy stood in Madame Tussauds 'Chamber of Horrors' for some 127 years. The two issues cover the trial (in some depth and illustrated) and the verdict.
