'The Royal Coronation Visit to Scotland’ number, subtitled ‘A Pictorial Record of the State Visit of Her Majesty the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to her Northern Capital’ was issued on July 4, 1953
(Appendix List No. l5l). Here are illustrated
the Queen’s state entry along Princes Street on June 23; the National
Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication in St. Giles’ Cathedral on
June 24; the Royal Garden Party at the Palace of Holyrood House on June
24; the visit to the west of Scotland and the installation of the Duke
of Edinburgh as a Knight of the Thistle on June 28.
The cover is the normal advertising wrapper with the words describing
the special nature of the issue in the upper half.
